BASIC GREEN 1

Basic Green 1 also known as Brilliant green and commonly known as Diamond Green is a bright green crystalline powder, used as a biological stain, textile dye, and antiseptic. It is soluble in water and alcohol and is effective in alkaline solutions.

Applications

  Textiles: Used to color a variety of fibers, including silk, wool, cotton,     and acrylics.

  Paper: Added to paper for its coloration properties.

  Leather: Used in the coloring process for leather products.

  Inks and paints: A component in the formulation of some inks and       paints.

  Light Fastness: Good

  Washing Fastness: Poorer

  Rubbing Fastness: Moderate

  Prespairation Fastness: Good

Handling and storage

  Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Wear appropriate PPE such as     gloves, safety goggles, and protective clothing.

  Ventilation Handle in a well-ventilated area.

  Storage Store in closed containers in a cool, dry place away from         incompatible materials, heat, and direct sunlight.
