Direct Green 1

Direct Green B is a water-soluble, direct dye that is typically a dark gray or green powder used for coloring textiles (like silk, cotton, and wool), paper, and leather. It is an industrial-grade dye with good light and water resistance, and its aqueous solution is a distinct green.

Applications

o  Textiles: Used for dyeing silk, cotton, wool, and various synthetic             fibers like cellulose and PC blends.

o   Paper: Used in paper processing and coloration

o   Leather: Used for dyeing leather.

o   Other: Can be used in inks, paints, and other applications where a       green dye is needed.

Handling 

Direct Green B handling involves dyeing cellulose fibers like cotton and paper using a direct dye bath, requiring steps like dissolving the dye in water, adding electrolyte (Glauber's Salt), and raising the temperature to a boil. The process also includes specific temperature control, with a final wash and optional aftertreatment to improve wash fastness. Storage is crucial; keep the dye in a cool, dry place away from sunlight in sealed bags.

  Environment: Store the dye in a cool, dry place away from direct           sunlight and sources of heat.

  Container Integrity: Keep the material in its original, securely                 sealed packaging (such as HDPE bags, drums, or fiberboard                   cartons  with inner liners) to prevent moisture absorption and                 contamination.

   Shelf Life: When stored correctly, Direct Green B typically has a              significant shelf life, often ranging from 2 to 5 years.
