Direct Red 13

Direct Bordeaux BW (also known as Direct Red 13) is a water-soluble azo direct dye, typically supplied as a reddish-orange or brown powder. It is widely used in the textile industry for dyeing cotton, viscose, and paper, providing a deep, rich bordeaux/maroon shade. It offers good leveling properties but generally requires cationic fixing agents to improve wash fastness.

Applications

  Textiles (Primary): Used for dyeing cotton, viscose/polyamide               blends, and rayon to achieve deep maroon or bordeaux hues.

  Printing: Suitable for printing on cotton and other cellulose fabrics.

  Paper Industry: Used for coloring paper products, providing                     uniform,  high-quality results.

  Leather Industry: Utilized for coloring various types of leather.

  Light fastness: Good

  Washing fastness: Excellent

  Rubbing fastness: Good

  Prespiration fastness: Good

Handling and Storage

  Storage Conditions: It must be stored in a cool, dry, and well-                 ventilated area.

  Shelf Life: When stored properly in sealed containers, the dye has a       long shelf life, often reported to last up to 24 months.

  Safety: Although generally stable, it is considered poisonous if               ingested and should be handled with appropriate protective                   equipment.
